Madonna is going to have to work her vadge off real hard if she wants to land on my Top 5 Superbowl Halftime performances list. Will there be vadge thrusts? Will there be lip syncing? Will there be scantily-clad male dancers? Oh, the suspense is killing me!
At any rate, Madge will join a long list of musicians (and legendary ones, at that) who have graced the Superbowl stage for the halftime show. Rumor has it that her set list includes a medley of Madge hits, including her new single: Give Me All Your Love (with guests), Ray of Light, Vogue, Music and Holiday.
So will she be one of THE best? Time will tell!
For now, I’ve compiled a list of my personal favorite Superbowl performances of all time. These are, of course, my personal selections so feel free to throw in your two cents in the comments section below if you agree or disagree.
5. Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson: Try to forget about the exposed breast and spiky nipple shield. Other than THAT minor mishap, it was a decent performance.
4. Shania Twain, No Doubt and Sting: You had to have liked at least ONE of the performers, am I not right? Ending with Sting was brilliant. Sending out an SOS, mudder chuckers.
3. Prince Halftime Show 2007: Little man Prince and his guitar rocked the stage at Superbowl’s halftime show in 2007. Prince is the ultimate show man and surely knows how to get the crowd roaring. And how about that hair-kerchief?
2. U2 Superbowl 2002: These guys didn’t have any special effects, other than some fog and flashing lights. All they had to do to massively entertain was stand on stage and rock. Legendary.
1. Michael Jackson’s Halftime Performance 1993: It’s Michael Jackson. Need I say more?
