We are only two months away from the beginning of everyone’s favorite movie season. Summer movies give an audience the chance to munch on some popcorn and watch the screen explode with some of the year’s best action spectaculars.
Since these five are must sees, I will put them in order of their release date.
THE AVENGERS (May 4)
I’m really curious to see how they can fit all these superheroes (Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Captain America, among others) into one movie and have it all make sense. Fanboys might need a change of underwear while watching this movie.
PROMETHEUS (June 8)
The is it or isn’t prequel to Alien. Director Ridley Scott’s lips are sealed as he refuses to give anyone a hint on the plot. Is it too much to ask for Charlize Theron to be running around in her underwear?
THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (July 6)
I’m more interested in seeing why they have decided to reboot a franchise that is only 10 years old, than I am to see the actual movie. I’m not completely sold on Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, but I am curious to see how it all plays out.
THE DARK KNIGHT RISES (July 20)
The mother of all summer blockbusters. This is the final chapter in Christopher Nolan’s brilliant trilogy. I want to see if Tom Hardy’s Bane can even come close to Heath Ledger’s Joker.
THE BOURNE LEGACY (August 3)
Initially I had no interest in a 4th Bourne movie, especially without Matt Damon. How do you make a Bourne flick without Jason Bourne in it? After the teaser trailer, I’m hooked already. Jeremy Renner should be fantastic in this.
