John Carter opens up in theaters tomorrow and Disney has a lot riding on it’s $250 million dollar epic. But where does a sci-fi character like John Carter rank all time among his fellow space adventures?

Here are the 10 most interesting sci-fi characters of all time.

1. LUKE SKYWALKER- The hero of the original Star Wars trilogy. Luke leads a space rebellion against the evil Darth Vadar who (ancient spoiler alert) is actually Luke’s father.

2. BUCK ROGERS- Famously portrayed in the campy late 70′s tv series, Rogers was an astronaut who is involved in a freak accident in space.  He falls into a state of suspended animation without aging until he is reanimated in the 25th Century.

5 Stars Who Need New Characters

We see stars always taking on the same type of characters, over and over again. Here are the five that I think need to change it up the most.

1) BRUCE WILLS – There is only one John McClane. So why does Bruce continue to play detectives that are poor man versions of his legendary Die Hard hero. He’s always playing the tough cop. The Last Boy Scout, Striking Distance, Mercury Rising, Sin City, 16 Blocks, Surrogates, Cop Out. Oh and I didn’t count all the Die Hard sequels, with Die Hard 5 coming to the big screen next year.

2) TOM CRUISE – The late 80′s, all of the 90′s and early 21st century belonged to Tom Cruise. After a little couch jumping incident, people started focusing on his career less. He’s an underrated actor, but he is too often in Mission Impossible mode. Number four coming this Christmas. Knight & Day was just a comical Mission Impossible flick and his upcoming One Shot sounds like another Ethan Hunt adventure. Tom! We get it! You can run, jump and do amazing stunts.

When celebrities marry other celebrities, you would hope that they would sign a prenuptial agreement to keep their finances intact if a split were to occur. And you would especially hope that a celebrity marrying a non-celebrity would have the brains to keep their bank accounts safe if they were to get dumped for their money. However, not every celebrity believes that protecting their money is a big fat deal. Those celebs are the ones that end up paying the price when it comes to the Big D. And sometimes those prenups end up being a good deal in itself.
